I met Kaycee and Jonathan whenever I first started my photography journey many years ago. At that time they were just dating. But not long after, they became engaged. To say I was excited for them would be an understatement. There couldn't be any two people meant for each other more than these two. To know Kaycee and Jonathan is to know some of the sweetest and kindest humans you'll ever meet. It didn't take long after their engagement for Kaycee to reach out to me and ask me to be their wedding photographer. Of course it was an immediate, YES!
So the wedding planning began for Kaycee and Jonathan. They had everything perfectly planned out. All vendors were booked, wedding dress was bought, and all the little details were figured out. They were planning to be married at their farmhouse that they bought and were renovating (which was looking amazing!) and a reception at their local firehall. Perfectly planned. As all brides do leading up to their wedding day, Kaycee was keeping an eye on the weather. Everything was looking great until about a week from their big day. What changed, you ask? A MASSIVE HURRICANE. Which might I add, is pretty rare in Pennsylvania.
So, all of that hard work and planning went right out the window and had to be completely changed. Of course, everyone was hoping that the extreme amount of rain that was forecasted would change or at least there would be a break in the rain in the afternoon for the ceremony. But the forecast turned out to be very correct. It rained. A LOT. So, all getting ready photos were done inside Jonathan's parents home. A tent was put up outside at the pond for their first look. The ceremony was moved inside the firehall. But despite all of the last minute changes, it was a beautiful wedding with lots of laughter, happy tears, and love.

As luck would have it, there was a very small break in the torrential downpours and we were able to quickly drive to their farmhouse. We snapped photos as fast as possible and were able to get some beautiful photos of Kaycee and Jonathan before the rain started again. We drove back to the firehall to get family and wedding party photos inside. Did we have to get creative with them? Yup! But we made it work! But after all of that, Kaycee and Jonathan were able to relax, eat, and party the night away!

And just when you thought the day couldn't get any better than marrying your best friend.... how about surprising everyone with a BABY ANNOUNCEMENT!
