Cows. That was the highlight of this photo session for these adorable twin girls.
Every year I have the honor to photograph the Leyva family. This year, when Katilyn reached out to me to book her yearly photo session, she saw a previous session that I did with cows in the background and wanted to know if we could do the same location for her family. Of course she asked where exactly the location was. Well those cows belong to my neighbor and are on the property line of our backyard! That being the case, they are rather spoiled cows, especially in the summer months when it's warm enough to spend time out in the yard. Often times, when we have vegetable scraps or when we have an overabundance of vegetables from our garden, we will spend some time in the evening feeding the cows.
Katilyn said that one of her daughters was absolutely obsessed with cows, so we knew this would not only be a great photo session but also a fun and memorable time for the girls. Before the Leyva family came over to my house I got some extra squash grown in our garden and cut it up so the girls could feed the cows while we took photos. At first both the cows and the girls were a bit shy of each other but once the cows figured out that food was involved, they were all for it. The girls warmed up to the cows and the cows got their bellies full of squash, a win-win situation. Not only did the Leyva family have a great session with beautiful photos, but they also made priceless memories with each other.
